A category called Sachin

Just realized Flipkart.com has a separate category called 'Sachin Tendulkar' in its book shelf. Goes to show how much of 'Hero worshipers' we are.

Reading about Anna

Just started reading a book on Anna Hazare by Ashutosh (TV reporter IBN7). Even when the complete episode was happening it felt like we were a part of history in the making. It felt like things will change for the better. But 7 months have passed and the government is still no where close. I wonder what more they need to wake up.

Indian Diplomacy and Srilanka

Cannot understand why so much fuss about the United Nations resolution against Sri Lanka. Atleast Indian media should have supported our leaders. The fact is human rights were violated during last phase of the civil war in Sri Lanka. Yes, LTTE also did the same, but does that give a right to the military to kill civilians... No. Totally one sided reporting by the Indian media here.

Sachin's 100th 100

The nation is feeling lighter. Sachin finally scored his 100th 100. But price we had to pay for it is the loss against Bangladesh. Thanks Sachin for relieving us the burden. I won't be surprised if this match turns out to be fixed. You take the century, we take the match. Not a bad bargain.

INDIAN GOVERNANCE

Today I learnt something new about the Indian governance. Certain villages in India- the one I am talking about has only 15 houses in it- are still under functional control of Revenue Department. This means any arrests or administrative actions will be carried out by the SDM of the area. Police cannot directly involve in the arrest. The case I heard has even been to the Chief Ministers' office but is entangled in the legal mess. The individual has lost his father and brother in the land battle and is afraid of his own life now when he will be going to collect court verdict on 14 Mar 2012.
